About Politics Code Blue

Through the power of political cartoons, Politics Code Blue will chronicle the insanity, cruelty, corruption and danger of the Trump era.
We will feature the work of talented political cartoonists alongside original cartoons and commentary created for Politics Code Blue. At a time when the decline of newspapers has decimated editorial cartooning, we hope to provide another home for an art form uniquely suited to exposing hypocrisy, challenging power and capturing the political moment in ways that words alone often cannot.

Dennis Goris

Editorial Cartoons

After a career shaping messaging and brands for national and international nonprofits, advocacy groups, and institutions in Washington, D.C., Dennis turned his attention to editorial cartooning full-time. His daily cartoons use satire to challenge power and expose hypocrisy. His work has appeared in Politico and other online publications, has been discussed on CNN, and is regularly shared by political journalists, commentators, and other influential voices. FeedSpot recognized him as one of its Top Political Cartoon Influencers in 2026.

Clay Jones

Cartoonist, Writer

Clay Jones discovered at a young age he had a knack for making fun of people, drawing simple Crayola caricatures of his friends in elementary school. He decided later to make it a career.  Jones was with Creators Syndicate from 2000 to 2013 when he decided to create his own syndication, which distributes his cartoons to daily newspapers, weeklies, alt-weeklies, and online news sites throughout the country. He is currently drawing one cartoon each week for the CNN Opinion Newsletter.  His cartoons have entertained readers in The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, The Chicago Sun-Times, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, USA Today and Newsweek magazine.  Jones believes it is his daily goal to lampoon authority and make it look as ridiculous as possible. “My cartoons do not tell readers what they should believe. I hope they simply challenge people to think.”  Jones was born in Fort Hood, Texas, and was raised in Louisiana, Illinois, California and Georgia. He attended Belhaven College in Jackson, Miss.

Daniel Boris

Editorial Cartoons

Daniel is a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and has worked as a professional graphic designer for more than 25 years, but cartooning has always been his passion. In 2010, Daniel's comic strip, "Hoxwinder Hall", was a top 5 finalist in The Washington Post’s "America’s Next Great Cartoonist" contest. His Dozi the Alligator® character was the inspiration for a children's book series that was published in 2015 by Heritage Builders Publishing. Daniel's artwork has appeared in numerous websites, publications, and books, including the 2013 Eisner and Harvey award-nominated anthology, Team Cul de Sac: Cartoonists Draw the Line at Parkinson's by Andrews McMeel Publishing. In 2017, Daniel felt compelled to try his hand at political cartooning. He found that he had a knack for it and his work has been evolving ever since.
